Specification of EPCO Structural Fittings

1.1     The EPCO Structural fittings are manufactured using the lost wax casting method with 316 Grade stainless steel with a tensile strength of 600 MPa providing a flexible connection between glass and supporting system. The fitting’s arms are designed to support a maximum loading and allow flexibility to reduce the stress around the glass holes.

1.2     The EPCO bolt assembly offers Standard Countersunk, Flat Head Bolt and Articulated Swivel Bolts to give single point fixed or flush appearance to outward surface of glazing system.

1.2.1   Countersunk socket head screws are the bolting members which are manufactured from 316 Grade stainless steel with a tensile strength of 600 MPa and an M10 external thread.

1.2.2   The EPCO fittings are protected from direct contact with the glass by Fiber Gasket, EPDM or Phenolic resin.

1.2.3  The glass hole is insulated by U.V. resistant Nylon bushing

EPCO Fittings - The arms of the spider fitting need to be correctly sized to allow flexibility under heavy loads, while being stiff enough to return to normal. If the arms are too rigid, bending stress in the glass would be concentrated at the point of attachment. The correct spider fitting will transmit forces such as wind and seismic loads from the glass into the structure without concentrated points of stress around the holes.Tested!
